reading

the imperial mode of living: everyday life and the ecological crisis of capitalism by ulrich brand and markus wissen

despite the unsustainable, greedy, and resource-exhaustive nature of capitalism, the material benefits it provides to the imperial core is much too appealing to give up. so what happens when those outside of the imperial core attempt to take a piece of that pie? be it through migrating to the global north or global south nations developing their own capitalistic ventures? and how do the working class in the global north assist or betray the working class in the global south? a fascinating and timely book. only a few chapters in but i recommend others to read!

watching

spongebob squarepants and the bear

i contain many dualities.

no, but its impressive how much spongebob holds up and it's massive affect on meme culture in the first season alone.

as for the bear, super sad but exciting to see how the series wraps up. currently on episode 3 and would like to enjoy it slowly.

playing
